How to increase Virtual Memory

If we want to run a Program on windows & if there is No space available in RAM ( Random Access Memory ), then computer uses Virtual Memory. When computer memory is low to do a task then computer RAM some data to temporary space in hard driver to free the RAM,that space is called Paging file. if a computer has high virtual memory than there is less chances to hang up of computer. SO increase the Virtual Memory to high level.
Follow these simple steps to increase Virtual Memory of a Computer:
  • Right click on My computer & Go to the Properties.
  • Then go to Advance Tab.

  • Click on setting in performance as shown in figure.
  • Then again select advance tab in Performance setting menu.
How to increase Virtual Memory
  •  Click on Change.
  • Click on Virtual Memory & Put paging file Initial size value and the Maximum size value as much as you can.
  • Click apply>>OK.
  • Computer ask to restart.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Now you can feel the increase in speed of your computer.
  • This will also remove the error of “Virtual Memory Low”.
In Windows 7,Page file value or Virtual Memory managed Automatically for all Drives.
To Manual Setup In Windows 7,follow the same procedure. (Some Hint)
  • Right click on My Computer.
  • Go to >>Advance system Setting>>Advances tab.
  • In performance select setting >>Advanced>>Change.
  • Remove The Check from, Automatically Manage page file for all Drives.
  • Select Drive>>Custom Size.
This will also same in windows Vista..
*Note-The maximum paging file size is 4,095 MB in windows XP.
